Highlights

We are constantly evolving and putting our efforts into the creation of something new and fun for the kids.

This page will be dedicated to showcasing and recapping the programming we have implemented in the local community, along with highlighting the student-athletes and their accomplishments.

As we continue to brainstorm, we will also share some of our ideas that will hopefully come to life in the coming months.

UCSB Take Over

Flow Athletics, SBMS and UCSB Athletics all teamed up for an epic night of basketball!  With community and support for women's athletics being the focus, 180 people came together to watch UCSB Women's last home game at the Thunderdome vs LB State.  Special shoutout to Flow Ambassador, Eva Rogers, for leading the charge and presenting in front of the SBMS student body about equality and progression within women's athletics.  A big

"Thank You!" to Kelly Barsky, UCSB Athletic Director, for her continued support in youth development and empowering the young girls/women of our community!

Underdog Underclassmen

The local PYC basketball league recently wrapped up a competitive 2023-24 season. The #4 seed Bucks of the 8th grade division made an impressive playoff run, winning 3 games in a row.  Comprised of three 8th graders and three 7th graders, the Bucks took down 3 of the top 5 teams in the league on their road to winning the championship. Led by stellar performances from

their All-Stars Brent and Mikah, the Bucks were able to hold off the #2 seed Celtics and their 3 All-Stars, James, Jada and Kindah (coached by Dima).

Female Student-Athletes Finding Their Voice

Every year at SBMS, the 8th-grade students are asked to write and present a poem for their English class.  Ella Valdez Lindgren and Gigi Yosimi blew us away with their performance, captivating the audience by shining light on what it's like being a female student-athlete in today's society.  We wish you could hear the words straight from the source -- the voices of these two strong, intelligent, competitive girls.  But to honor them and highlight their courage for stepping outside of their comfort zone, we share with you "Just A Competition".

Breakfast Club

From 3hr basketball sessions and open runs on Sunday mornings to 7 am beach workouts and volleyball games during the week before school, we're always looking for new ways to educate the student-athlete on how to separate themselves from the competition and better prepare themselves for the next level
